Cava & Twitts: Tourism ... although we talk about more things

a couple of weeks ago we celebrated the second edition of 'Cava & Twitts' ( for those who do not know it, this is a monthly event in Barcelona where we want to bring both current users of Twitter and those who are not, what it is, what it does and who is using Twitter ... through a round table where we discussed a particular issue and its impact on technologies followed by a bit ... networking with a glass of champagne courtesy of Cavas Castellroig ) ... this time dedicated to Tourism 2.0.

When asked Do you think that new technologies and new media (Internet, blogs, Twitter and social networks) are affecting the tourism sector and are leading to disintermediation in it? responded to 4 experts who are invited to the roundtable:
  • Albert Barra: Founder and Director Juice
  • Hotel Toni Mascaro
  • : Founder and CEO, Crossmedia eMascaró
  • Silvia Carreño : Social Media Manager - Atrapalo
  • Pilar Noguera : Sales Manager - Nuñez i Navarro Hotels

As in the first edition ... Over 100 people attended the event.

One of the topics that generated interventions was discussion on whether the company is on Twitter and in general, in a network, you must do as " brand or as a person who conveys the brand values \u200b\u200b ( Issac Gonzalez phrase , summarizing the question posed by Alberto Lacasa ). Many questions arise about this issue and I think there is no right answer.

I sincerely believe that the communities are people, not companies, and therefore, relationships can only be established between people. I also find difficult to think of large companies that are on Twitter and your account is identifiable with a particular person, not talking I guess, today, with Telefonica Twitter account as if conversing with someone.

But on this issue came out very different views ... from those who said it is not feasible to suggest that large businesses to enable an employee to be the voice on the Internet the same to what they understood that they have no other way enter into the conversation ...

What is clear (reviewing more than 140 trademarks registered to date in the Trademark Twitter) is that there is a relationship between firm size and level of identification with a person's physical Twitter account ... and I think this will be subject to a new edition of Cava & Twitts ...

In the meeting last Thursday, I'll take 3 sentences :

  • Silvia Carreño " for a brand means entering the net off the podium and be on your to your "
  • Albert Barra " always talk about mediation because we think of sales ... we talk about the infomediation and figure out how to add value to the consumer through new technologies "
  • Toni Mascaro " youtube is the 2 nd search for hotels in the world "and" In TripAdvisor hotels are a days above opinions are favorable and suddenly disappear ... to reflect "
And I leave you with summaries and reflections of some of the people who came to the event ...

  • Carthesian reflects on whether or not to limit the recommendations and ratings for hotels. .. Carme Pla
  • gives us his vision of the event ... that began hours earlier ... 200 km from Barcelona ... Silvia Carreño
  • gives his view on whether a corporate account or not to be name ... Javier Rey
  • sums up the act ... and can not remember the controversy when Tony dropped that from "we have not ever sold a Twitter account" and someone in the audience said ...
  • Isaac Gonzalez shares his thoughts of the event ... Maria Ripoll
  • reviews some accounts of travelers taking advantage of the review of the event ...

Certainly we have to remind you that date, speakers and topic for the third edition of Cava & Twitts :

Where and When: December 11 at 19:30 in BHotel
That " Twitter and social networks "Who
: Pere Rosales, director of marketing and Comunciación Profesionalia and Gregor Gimmy , founder and CEO Sclipo ed.
